Coming out of COVID-19 it is imperative that schools have plans to include mental health and psycho social support. According to the UN 2022 Sustainable Development Goals report, more than 13 percent of adolescents aged 10 to 19 had a diagnosed mental disorder as defined by the WHO; this translates into 86 million adolescents aged 15 to 19. Increased attention and investment are particularly needed to improve mental health care for children and young people and to protect the most vulnerable children.
